The $3,799 Traeger Timberline 1320 and $3,499 for the Timberline 880, do cost a little more than some of the competitor wood pellet grills of the same size. Though they prove their value with superior material build quality and performance.

Both of these high-end Traeger wood pellet grills feature WiFIRE connectivity, updated ash management, cutting-edge internal grease traps, and a PAL rail to let you quickly swap out key accessories for a customized grilling experience. 

The Traeger Timberline XL 1320 and Timberline 880 are worth it for a pitmaster or a large family that frequently needs to feed a lot of people. While the price tag of $3,799 for the Timberline XL 1320 and $3,499 for the Timberline 880 is higher than the competitor’s grills of the same size, you truly are getting what could arguably be called the best wood pellet grill on the market. 

Should You Buy a Traeger Timberline?

The Traeger Timberline XL and the Timberline 880 are a sound investment in what is arguably the best wood pellet grill on the market. 

It’s best for someone who wants an outdoor kitchen and frequently needs to cook for a large number of people. If you are a bachelor, or you really only need to cook for a small number of people from time to time the Traeger Timberline XL and the Timberline 880 might be a little too big for modest needs. 

Both Timberline models offer an enormous amount of grilling and smoking space. The 1,320 total square inch grates are divided into three different cooking grates.

The Traeger Timberline is WiFIRE-enabled and comes with the updated D2 auger drive. It was also engineered with Traeger’s updated internal grease trap and ash management system.

Another great engineering feature of the Timberline series is the PAL or “Pop And Lock” rail system. It lets you quickly swap out key accessories like a detachable front shelf, tool hooks, paper towel racks, and storage bins.

Is The Timberline XL 1320 Worth It?

The Traeger Timberline XL 13s0 is a great value for a large family or a serious pitmaster who needs to feed a lot of people competition-level barbecue. It might be a little too much of a wood pellet grill for a single person or small family. 

While it does have a slightly higher price than some of the competitor wood pellet grills of the same size, it proves its value with the superior material build quality. Traeger also backs the Timberline XL 13d0 with an industry-leading limited warranty.

The PAL rail lets you customize your Timberline XL 1320 with accessories that match your grilling style. This is virtually unheard of from the competition.
