Is Traeger Ironwood 650 Worth It?

The Traeger Ironwood 650 is a good wood pellet grill, to cook for a family of four to five people.

Though there are certainly similar size wood pellet grills worth considering for less than the $1,399.99 it typically retails for. 

For instance, the Costco Traeger Silverton 620 is only a little bit smaller but has the same D2 drive system and WiFIRE app that the Traeger Ironwood 650 does.

However, it’s only priced at $899.99 for Costco members. 

If you step up to the Traeger Ironwood 885, you are looking at a significantly larger wood pellet grill than the Ironwood 620. Yet it only costs around $200 more.

Is The Traeger 885 Worth It?

The Traeger 885 is a great wood pellet grill to smoke food for a large family gathering. It’s designed to appeal to aspiring and passionate pitmasters who frequently need to feed the masses and want a wood pellet grill that will last. 

Though you can to Costco for the Traeger Silverton 810, which has the same construction engineering and features as the Ironwood 885 but is sold to Costco members for only $1,299 to $1,549.

As an added bonus Costco even includes a model-specific grill cover. 

The Costco Traeger Silverton 810 is a great alternative model if you can’t find the Ironwood 885 you want at other local retailers. 

Does Traeger Ironwood Ever Go on Sale?

Traeger themselves are sparse when it comes to sales events for any of their models, especially the Ironwood 620 and Ironwood 885. Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Black Friday are usually the only times Traeger puts their wood pellet grills on sale via their website. 

Brick-and-mortar retailers like Home Depot, Walmart, Ace Hardware, and others are more likely to have sales on their current inventory of Traeger Ironwood 620 and Ironwood 885 pellet grills.

This includes sales around Memorial Day, The Fourth Of July, and seasonal inventory clearance sales. 

Watching the seasonal sales fliers for the Traeger retailers in your area is the best way to find a good deal on the Traeger Ironwood of your dreams.
